Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Harrington. I'm a graphic designer, illustrator and an artist with many abilities. I'm currently in my last year of getting my associates degree for Graphic design at Lane community college and I'm hoping to use all that I have learned in my time there. I specialize in various fields of arts such as digital illustration, logo design, brand design, painting, some experience in printmaking, ceramics, photography, ect. I'm known for being widely open when it comes to anything artistic and have tried to take as many different kinds of art classes throughout high school and my time at Lane community college. I'm also known for being flexible and being creative, especially with solutions when problems arise. My goal is to find and discover where I excel the most, while also using all that I have learned to add to it.
Growing up I've always wanted to do something artistic. For a long time I didn't know which part or area of art that I wanted to go down and stay with as a career. So I took any and all classes I could in high school and college. Including illustration, photography, ceramics, screen printmaking, lionel carving printmaking, art pop up cards/books, painting, charcoal drawing, ect.
What made me choose graphic design though was because of my graphic design teacher at Willamette high school. I had taken a few of her classes and I remember really enjoying our projects and assignments. She introduced me to graphic design and showed me some of her past work that she had done for companies with reworking their logos. I loved creating and coming up with ideas for logos that I wanted to learn more. Next thing I knew I was researching all the different things you could do with graphic design.
By the time I was done with high school I had decided that, while I didn't want to stop learning and taking many different art classes that I could in college, I wanted to go down the path of graphic design.
